Will there be other opportunities to voice my opinions?
While the public engagement for the vision planning process has ended, there will be several opportunities to share your input moving forward.
What needs to happen before the Armory is redeveloped?
Following the release of the Vision Plan, NYCEDC released a Request for Proposals (“RFP”) to solicit proposals, with a view to selecting a developer for the long-term lease, redevelopment, and operation of the armory.
There are several public processes that we anticipate will need to be completed prior to redevelopment of the armory, including City Environmental Quality Review (“CEQR”) and the Uniform Land Use Review Procedure (“ULURP”).
If a project is approved through the relevant processes, a selected developer will need to secure financing and appropriate permitting for the project, before entering into a long-term lease with the City and beginning construction.
How was the Vision Plan be incorporated into the RFP?
The Together for Kingsbridge Vision Plan was incorporated into the RFP in the following ways:
- The Vision Plan was mentioned in the body of the RFP with a link to the full Vision Plan.
- One of the stated selection criteria was respondents’ explanation of how their project responds to the Vision Plan.
- A copy of the full Vision Plan was included in the RFP site file.
